The Ruined Mansions
Khaanan hindyen yiman roobi khaanan
Khaanan hindyen yiman roobi khaanan
In the grand balconies of these princely mansions
Jaanan dapaan yapaer gatsh
Where the noble and virtuous were haughtily told to turn away
Sondri wuchhmakh hoori wakhnaawaan
I once saw beauties there, singing enchanting melodies
Tsamro seetyen duwaan latsh
Sweeping away the dust with fine yak-tail whisks
Tath az deenthim kapas wawnaawaan
Yet today, I saw cotton being sown upon those very ruins!
Nasr baabe me wuchh tsi wuchhni gatsh
O Nasr Baba! I have witnessed this fate—go and see it for yourself!
