The Squandered Night

آدنہٕ پھیوٗرُس ڈوٗرَٮؠن تہٕ ڈارن

Aadine phyurus dooryen te daaran

In my youth, I wandered aimlessly through fields and pastures

عمر گٔیَم خارن سٟتؠ

Umar geyam khaaran seety

And squandered my entire life in the company of the worthless

وُدؠ کٮؠتھہٕ نہٕ روزاس ژۄنہٕ وٕنؠ پہارن

Wudy keath na roozas tsonweny pahaaran

Why did I not stand in wakeful vigil through all four watches of the night?

دٮؠوٕ لٮؠکھہٕ ہانَم ستارن سٟتؠ

Dyew leakhe haanam sataaran seety

Perhaps then, I too might have been counted among the radiant stars
